SHU Media Exchange 2015: Breaking Barriers

Attendees had the opportunity to hear from professionals who have achieved successful careers in the media industry. The moderator for the event was American television news anchor, reporter, and talk show host, Faith Daniels. Daniels moderated a panel discussion focusing on the growth of women and minorities in the media. The distinguished panelists included: Anita Ford Saunders, Director of Marketing Communications at United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut; Ana Ceppi, Vice President of Business Development at Univision Communications; and Rob King, Senior Vice President of SportsCenter and News at ESPN.

ESPN Anchor and SHU alumnus Dario Melendez moderated a discussion focused on the expansion of media and minds in Connecticut’s Creative Corridor. The conversation was geared towards the growth and success of both media industries and professionals in Connecticut as well as the expansion of SHU’s facilities and course offerings. The panel included: Katie Burke, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Nielsen; Ebong Udoma, senior reporter at WSHU; and Paul Pabst, executive producer of the Dan Patrick Show.

NBC Nightly News anchor and CEO of Seigenthaler Public Relations, John Seigenthaler moderated the Annual Media Exchange for the second consecutive year. This year's discussion will be focused on the growth of media industries in Connecticut, educational programs in the state and emerging professional opportunities. The panelists for the 2013 Media Exchanged included: Anita Valdes, Executive Vice President and Managing Partner at Millward Brown; Chris McCloskey, Vice President of Communications for NBC Sports; and George Norfleet, Connecticut's Director of the Office of Film.
